Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is an independent small animal practice seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their expanding nursing team. This is an additional role created to support the continued growth of the practice, rather than a replacement position, offering an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and supportive environment.
Rota Details
The role is based on a 4-day working week, totaling 38 hours, with shifts running between 8.30am and 7pm and a set day off each week. The practice would also consider alternative patterns such as 2–3 longer days per week. There is a shared rota of one in four Saturday mornings from 8.30am to 12pm, paid at an hourly rate. Inpatient on-call duties are involved, though this is not a regular requirement.
Information About the Practice
This is a busy small animal training practice with a large, experienced team comprising 13 Vets, 14 RVNs and approximately 10 reception staff. The practice has a strong emphasis on teamwork, support and ongoing development, making it particularly suitable for nurses at varying stages of their career.
Description of the Role
The position is a hands-on, rotational nursing role with a primary focus on wards, prep and theatre duties, with minimal consulting required. The successful candidate will be involved in the day-to-day inpatient care, anaesthesia support and general nursing duties, contributing to the smooth running of the practice alongside a collaborative and experienced team.
Ideal Candidate
The practice is open to nurses ranging from newly qualified to more experienced candidates. They are ideally looking for a well-rounded, reliable team player who is keen to develop their skills within a supportive setting. Extensive experience is not essential, and the role would suit an RVN looking to build confidence in a varied clinical environment.
Practice Equipment List
The practice is well equipped to support a broad range of small animal medical and surgical work, with facilities suitable for inpatient care, theatre procedures and nurse training within an approved training practice setting.
Any Other Details
This role offers genuine scope for development, with the practice open to discussing CPD and certificate support. It is a supportive, friendly workplace with a strong nursing presence and a focus on maintaining a positive team culture.
