Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a progressive, expanding, hospital-based small animal practice located in Chippenham. The main surgery holds Tier 3 Veterinary Hospital status and has achieved ISFM Cat Friendly Practice Gold Award, reflecting its commitment to exceptional clinical standards and feline care.
The practice prides itself on delivering high-quality patient care within a supportive and close-knit team environment.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a permanent, full-time role averaging 36 hours per week across a 4-day working week, supporting an excellent work–life balance. There are no out-of-hours requirements, as the practice has its own dedicated night team.
Role Description
This role offers the opportunity to work within a passionate nursing team, delivering exceptional patient care across a busy hospital environment. You will support advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries performed in-house, assist with diagnostics and anaesthesia, and provide high standards of inpatient nursing care.
The practice is equipped with advanced imaging and diagnostic tools, allowing nurses to fully utilise and expand their clinical skillset. The team encourages professional development, with strong CPD support and certificate funding available.
An interest in mentoring and supporting the development of the next generation of veterinary nurses would be advantageous, as the practice values education and training within its team.
Team Size
You will join a close-knit, diverse, and enthusiastic team of Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, and support staff, all committed to delivering high standards of clinical care in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Practice Details
The Tier 3 Veterinary Hospital is equipped to a high standard, including direct digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, laparoscopy, video endoscopy (bronchoscopy, gastroscopy, and rigid endoscopy), and a fully equipped in-house laboratory with a laboratory technician. Advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries are performed on-site.
The hospital also holds ISFM Cat Friendly Practice Gold Award status, reflecting its dedication to feline patient care.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse who is committed, motivated, and passionate about the profession. You will demonstrate a proactive “can-do” attitude and thrive in a busy hospital setting.
Strong teamwork skills, enthusiasm for delivering high standards of patient care, and an interest in professional development and mentoring are highly valued.
