Job Description

Introduction
Our Client is an independently owned, not-for-profit veterinary hospital providing accessible, affordable, high-quality veterinary care. As the UK’s only veterinary Community Interest Company (CIC), the organisation is committed to removing financial barriers to treatment through free daytime consultations and transparent pricing. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse with a passion for inpatient and emergency care to join a supportive hospital team caring for both first opinion and referral patients.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position averaging 40.25 hours per week, working a 4-on, 4-off rota. Shifts are 8:00am to 8:30pm.

Role Description
This role is primarily focused on inpatient care, providing exceptional nursing support for both first opinion and referral patients throughout their treatment and recovery. You will take the lead in managing complex medical and surgical cases, confidently caring for patients with continuous rate infusions (CRIs), indwelling catheters and a wide range of advanced nursing needs. While the role is inpatient-focused, you will also assist with anaesthetic monitoring when required. Working alongside an experienced team of RVNs and veterinary surgeons, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding patient care within a busy hospital environment.

Team Size
You will become part of an experienced multidisciplinary hospital team of veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses and support staff, working collaboratively to provide exceptional care for a diverse caseload of first opinion and referral patients.

Practice Details
The hospital provides both first opinion and referral veterinary services, allowing the team to manage a broad and rewarding caseload of medical, surgical and emergency patients. Its commitment to affordable veterinary care and diverse clinical workload creates an excellent environment for nurses looking to further develop their inpatient and emergency nursing skills.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse with a strong interest in inpatient or emergency and critical care nursing. Experience managing complex medical cases, CRIs and indwelling catheters is essential, while an ECC or Medical Nursing certificate would be advantageous but is not required. You will possess excellent communication skills, thrive in a fast-paced environment and be committed to delivering the highest standards of patient care.
