Job Description

Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned group of three small animal practices across Ayrshire, looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its supportive and forward-thinking team. The opportunity is open to both experienced RVNs and newly qualified nurses, with a strong emphasis on professional development, teamwork and work-life balance.

Working Hours / Rota
This role offers flexible working arrangements, with full-time hours available across a minimum of three days per week. The rota can be tailored around individual circumstances where possible.

Saturday duties are shared on a 1:4 rota, with no out-of-hours requirements.

Role Description
The successful RVN will work across three practices in Ayrshire, providing varied clinical and nursing support. Responsibilities will include nurse consultations, anaesthetic monitoring, inpatient care and wider general nursing duties, with nurses encouraged to develop their clinical interests and make full use of their skills.

There is excellent scope for development, with existing nurses pursuing areas including acupuncture, pain management, behaviour and Schedule 3 surgical procedures. Support is available from senior nursing colleagues and clinical management across the group.

Team Size
The wider team consists of approximately 60 colleagues across three practices, including 14 Veterinary Surgeons and 14 RVNs. The clinical team also includes three GPD-trained Clinical Lead Vets, three Clinical Coach RVNs and experienced senior nursing and clinical management support.

Practice Details & Equipment
The three practices provide modern small animal care and are equipped to support a varied clinical caseload. Equipment includes multiparameter monitors, fluid pumps, blood pressure monitoring and ultrasound.

The practices place a strong emphasis on continual clinical development, with nurses encouraged to expand their responsibilities and pursue individual areas of interest.

Ideal Candidate
The practice is open to both experienced and newly qualified Registered Veterinary Nurses. The ideal candidate will be passionate about nursing, committed to providing excellent patient and client care and keen to continue developing their clinical skills.

A positive, energetic and team-focused approach is important, alongside strong communication skills and a willingness to contribute to a supportive and sociable working environment.
