Job Description

Introduction
Our Client’s practices are located across Ayrshire, with clinics in Irvine, Ayr and Kilmarnock, offering a supportive and progressive environment where veterinary nurses are genuinely valued. The practices are built around teamwork, mutual respect and continuous professional development, ensuring every team member feels supported and empowered within their role.

Nurses are encouraged to work to their full potential and play a key role within the clinical team. The practices support a collaborative working culture where ideas are welcomed, development is encouraged and work-life balance is respected. The team includes nurses with additional training in areas such as acupuncture, pain management, behaviour and Schedule 3 surgical procedures, creating an excellent learning environment for both experienced and newly qualified nurses.

Working Hours / Rota
The practice is able to offer flexible working arrangements with both full-time and part-time opportunities available. The weekend rota consists of 1 in 4 Saturdays and there are no out of hours requirements, helping to provide an excellent work-life balance. Rotas are tailored where possible to suit individual needs and preferences.

Role Description
This Registered Veterinary Nurse role offers exposure to a wide range of nursing duties across multiple clinics. Responsibilities will include nurse consultations, monitoring anaesthesia, inpatient care, supporting surgical procedures and delivering a high standard of client and patient care.

The successful candidate will work within a supportive and experienced nursing team and will be encouraged to develop their own interests and clinical skills. The practices place a strong emphasis on progression and continuous learning, making this an excellent opportunity for both experienced RVNs and newly qualified nurses looking to grow within a forward-thinking environment.

Team Size
The wider team consists of 14 Veterinary Surgeons, 14 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 GPD-trained Clinical Lead Vets and 3 Clinical Coach RVNs across the three practices. The practices are led by four partners, including two vets, one RVN and a practice manager, ensuring nursing voices are represented within leadership and decision-making.

The clinics also benefit from support provided by four senior nurses, three clinical nurse managers and an RVN business partner, helping to create a highly collaborative and supportive working culture.

Practice Details
The practices are modern and well-equipped clinics committed to delivering high standards of clinical care and client service. The team strongly values communication, teamwork and maintaining a positive working environment where colleagues support one another both professionally and personally.

The practices actively invest in modern equipment and continued staff development, ensuring nurses have the tools and support needed to provide excellent patient care while continuing to expand their clinical knowledge and skills.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified or newly qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse with a passion for nursing and delivering excellent patient care. The practices are looking for someone who brings positivity, enthusiasm and a team-focused attitude to their work.

Candidates should enjoy working collaboratively within a supportive team environment and be confident communicating with both colleagues and clients. A willingness to get involved in all areas of practice life and contribute positively to team culture is highly valued.
