Introduction
Our Client is an independently owned hospital and operates as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC), committed to providing accessible, affordable and high-quality veterinary care. They are seeking an Inpatient & Emergency Veterinary Surgeon to join their modern Teesside Hospital, which opened in January 2026 and has rapidly established a busy inpatient caseload while delivering exceptional first opinion, referral and out-of-hours services. This is an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for Emergency and Critical Care who prefers working daytime hours.

Role Description
This role focuses on delivering exceptional inpatient care while managing emergency cases presenting through the hospital’s Pet A&E service. The successful candidate will oversee the clinical care of hospitalised patients, ensuring continuity of treatment while confidently managing same-day emergency presentations.

The position offers a varied and rewarding caseload with a strong medical focus, alongside opportunities to perform emergency procedures and surgical emergency cases. Working within a busy hospital environment, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with the wider clinical team to deliver outstanding patient care while continuing to develop their emergency and critical care skills.

Team Size
The successful candidate will become part of a collaborative multidisciplinary hospital team, working alongside experienced Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses and support staff to provide high-quality inpatient, emergency, referral and first opinion care.
