The average working week is approximately 29 hours of day shifts after time off in lieu. The rota includes well-managed diaries with 15-minute consultations, longer appointments for complex cases, dedicated catch-up time, and protected emergency slots.
Role Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to step into a Clinical Director position, combining clinical duties with leadership and strategic responsibilities.
You will oversee clinical standards across the practice, support and develop colleagues, and play a key role in shaping the future direction of the practice. Alongside leadership responsibilities, you will remain hands-on in clinical work, delivering high-quality patient care and building strong client relationships.
The role offers the opportunity to influence clinical governance, mentor team members, and contribute to ongoing improvements in practice performance, all within a supportive and progressive environment.
Team Size
You will be working alongside a friendly and collaborative team of experienced Veterinary Surgeons and a highly capable team of Registered Veterinary Nurses who support daily operations.
Practice Details
The practice is purpose-built and well-equipped with six consult rooms, an imaging suite, a dedicated dental suite with dental X-ray, two theatres, an endoscope, multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring, and a full in-house laboratory (including bloods, urinalysis, and cytology). The practice also benefits from visiting specialists in orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery, offering a high level of clinical capability.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for leadership and clinical excellence. You will enjoy mentoring and developing a team, while maintaining high standards of patient and client care.
You will have strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to contribute to the strategic direction of the practice. A desire to pursue further clinical interests or certifications is supported and encouraged.
