Job Description

Introduction
Our Client’s practice is a brand-new, purpose-built veterinary clinic in Beckenham, designed to redefine what exceptional veterinary care looks and feels like. Built around innovation, collaboration, and a people-and-animal-first ethos, this is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a clinic from day one within a modern and supportive environment.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position. The role is primarily clinical, with approximately 80% of time spent in practice. Flexibility is expected to meet the needs of the clinic, with leadership responsibilities integrated into the rota.

Role Description
This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to step into a Clinical Director position, leading the overall performance of the clinic across clinical, financial, and people-focused areas.

You will be responsible for delivering outstanding clinical care, leading and developing the veterinary and wider practice team, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical governance. The role includes performing consultations and surgeries, overseeing clinical audits, implementing evidence-based medicine, and driving continuous improvement across the clinic.

From a business perspective, you will play a key role in membership growth, client acquisition, and overall clinic strategy. You will oversee key operational areas including HR, recruitment, health & safety, marketing, and client care, while managing budgets and influencing financial performance through KPIs and P&L understanding.

Leadership is central to this role, where you will act as the figurehead of the clinic, mentoring and developing the vet team, Nursing Director, and Practice Director. You will foster a culture of collaboration, wellbeing, and professional growth, ensuring regular communication, performance management, and team development.

You will also act as an ambassador within the veterinary industry and local community, promoting the clinic’s ethos and contributing to its ongoing growth and success.

Team Size
You will lead a multidisciplinary team including Veterinary Surgeons, a Nursing Director, and a Practice Director, supported by a wider team of skilled veterinary professionals.

Practice Details
This is a beautifully designed, state-of-the-art, purpose-built clinic offering a modern and innovative veterinary environment. The practice focuses on delivering a seamless client and patient experience, supported by advanced facilities and a strong emphasis on clinical excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with strong leadership capabilities and a passion for clinical excellence. You will have proven experience in managing and developing teams, alongside confidence in both medical and surgical cases.

You will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to drive performance, manage KPIs, and contribute to business growth. A strong commitment to evidence-based medicine, clinical governance, and continuous professional development is essential.

A collaborative mindset, passion for team wellbeing, and enthusiasm for building a positive and inclusive culture will be key to success in this role.
