Our Client is a corporately owned Hospital seeking a Senior Leader to join the team as either a Clinical Director or Practice Director. This leadership role offers the opportunity to guide strategic direction, operational performance, and clinical excellence across multiple sites.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time leadership position. Specific rota details can be discussed during the recruitment process.
Role Description
This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping the strategy, culture, and operational success of the organisation’s primary care veterinary services. The successful candidate will oversee multiple sites, ensuring operational excellence while maintaining high standards of patient care and client service.
Responsibilities include leading and supporting multidisciplinary teams, delivering on financial and operational KPIs, driving service development, and implementing improvements that enhance efficiency and clinical quality. The role will also involve influencing stakeholders, guiding performance improvement initiatives, and ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and responsive veterinary services.
Candidates from both clinical and operational leadership pathways are encouraged to apply. Clinically qualified applicants will contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement, while operational leaders will focus on practice development, team performance, and client experience.
Team Size
The role provides leadership across multiple veterinary teams within a multi-site structure including veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses, and support staff.
Practice Details
The organisation operates an RCVS-accredited first-opinion hospital supported by several branch practices. The hospital provides both primary care and referral services and benefits from modern facilities designed to support high standards of veterinary care. The site features dedicated wards for dogs, cats, and exotic species and works closely with local referral hospitals. The practice environment encourages collaboration, professional development, and continuous learning with regular CPD opportunities and specialist input.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership experience within the veterinary industry and the ability to inspire teams while driving operational performance. Strong communication skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships are essential.
Clinically qualified applicants should hold MRCVS status and demonstrate experience in clinical leadership, governance, or service improvement. Candidates from an operational pathway should have strong experience in veterinary practice management, operational leadership, and practice development.
A passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and supporting team development is essential for success in this role.
