Introduction

Our Client is a corporately owned practice is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and supportive team. Following a recent change in management, the practice is entering an exciting period of development, with a focus on building a strong permanent team and expanding its clinical offering. This is an excellent opportunity for a Vet looking to develop their interests, contribute to the practice’s future direction and enjoy a varied caseload.

Working Hours / Rota

The position is available on a full-time basis, although part-time hours can also be considered. Weekend duties are shared on a 1 in 2 Saturday rota, working 9am–5pm, with a weekday off in lieu. Out-of-hours arrangements have not been specified.

Role Description

The successful Veterinary Surgeon will manage a varied small animal caseload, primarily involving cats and dogs, with opportunities to develop their clinical interests and undertake more advanced cases. The practice is particularly keen to welcome an experienced GP Vet who is either working towards a certificate or interested in pursuing further qualifications.

With new management and plans to expand the practice’s in-house clinical capabilities, the incoming Vet will have the opportunity to contribute ideas, influence clinical development and play an important role in the practice’s continued growth.

Team Size

The practice has a friendly and collaborative team consisting of 2 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Student Veterinary Nurses and a Practice Manager. The team is focused on delivering high standards of patient and client care while building a supportive and consistent working environment.

Practice Details & Equipment

The practice is a busy, well-equipped small animal surgery with facilities including laparoscopy, endoscopy, orthopaedic equipment and harmonic cautery technology. Visiting specialists currently provide additional expertise in orthopaedics, cardiology, diagnostic imaging and ophthalmology, with plans to continue developing these services in-house.

Ideal Candidate

Our Client is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with strong general practice skills, excellent communication abilities and a collaborative approach to patient care. The ideal candidate will be confident managing a varied caseload, enthusiastic about developing their clinical interests and keen to contribute to the practice’s future growth. An interest in certificate-level development or more advanced clinical work would be particularly welcomed.
