Job Description

Introduction
Our Client’s hospital is a brand-new 24/7 veterinary facility opening in early 2026, designed to deliver affordable and high-quality care to the local community. Operating as part of a not-for-profit organisation, the hospital is focused on providing accessible veterinary treatment while maintaining excellent clinical standards in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Working Hours / Rota
This role offers a flexible rota, with a standard pattern of 7 nights on followed by 14 nights off (28 hours per week). Full-time options (40 hours) and alternative working patterns may also be considered. This is a dedicated ECC role within a 24-hour service.

Role Description
This is an Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Surgeon role within a newly established hospital. You will be responsible for managing a wide range of surgical and medical ECC cases while overseeing inpatient care during your shifts.

Working alongside experienced RVNs and a wider hospital network, you will benefit from a collaborative environment where clinical discussion and support are always available. The role offers exposure to a varied and fast-paced caseload, providing excellent opportunities to develop advanced ECC skills and contribute to delivering high-quality care.

Team Size
You will work alongside a dedicated ECC team including veterinary surgeons and registered veterinary nurses, supported by a wider network of hospitals to ensure continuous collaboration and clinical support.

Practice Details
The hospital is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility featuring 9 consulting rooms, 3 operating theatres, a diagnostic suite, digital radiography, a dedicated dental suite, and an isolation unit. It includes separate cat and dog wards and a central preparation area to support efficient workflow. The hospital is designed to deliver first opinion, referral, and out-of-hours care, supporting a wide and varied caseload within a modern clinical setting.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a Veterinary Surgeon with a strong interest in emergency and critical care. You will be passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and aligned with a not-for-profit ethos focused on accessibility. Strong communication skills, empathy for both clients and patients, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential. A team-oriented mindset and enthusiasm for developing clinical skills in ECC will be key to success in this role.
