Job Description

Introduction
Our client is seeking a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join the dedicated night team at their 24-hour hospital in South London. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop advanced clinical skills while working within a well-equipped hospital environment handling a varied and complex caseload.

The position is ideal for a Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in emergency and critical care who enjoys working in a collaborative hospital setting.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a permanent part-time night role working a rolling rota of 7 nights on followed by 14 nights off, offering an excellent work–life balance while maintaining exposure to a diverse clinical caseload.

Practice Environment
The hospital is a well-equipped 24-hour veterinary facility capable of handling a wide range of medical, surgical and emergency cases.

Facilities include a CT suite, two surgical theatres, ultrasound and endoscopy, providing strong diagnostic and surgical capabilities. The night team works closely together to ensure high standards of patient care, with the Veterinary Surgeon supported by a dedicated night Registered Veterinary Nurse.

Located in the vibrant area of Camberwell in South London, the practice benefits from excellent transport links via Denmark Hill station. The surrounding area offers parks, restaurants and a thriving local community, making it an attractive place to both work and live.

Role Description
As a Night Veterinary Surgeon, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality emergency and inpatient care throughout the night shift.

Your responsibilities will include consultations, surgical procedures where required, patient monitoring and case management while ensuring the highest standards of clinical and regulatory compliance.

You will work closely with the night nursing team to provide exceptional patient care, develop treatment plans and ensure clear communication with clients regarding the progress and management of their pets.

This role provides valuable exposure to emergency and critical care cases while allowing you to further develop your clinical skills in a supportive hospital environment.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Veterinary Surgeon registered with the RCVS and confident working within a hospital or emergency care environment.

Applicants should demonstrate strong clinical judgement, excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a small night team. A passion for delivering high-quality patient care and supporting colleagues is essential.
