Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned Hospital seeking a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join a busy 24-hour facility on a fixed-term maternity cover basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive emergency and critical care environment.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a part-time fixed-term position working 7 nights per month on a 7-on / 21-off rota.

Role Description
The Night Veterinary Surgeon will be responsible for delivering high standards of emergency and critical care during overnight shifts. Responsibilities include assessing and treating urgent and critical cases, performing diagnostic and surgical procedures where required, and ensuring continuity of care for hospitalised patients.

The role involves preparing detailed treatment plans, communicating clearly with clients regarding patient care, and maintaining high levels of clinical and operational compliance. Veterinary surgeons will also complete clinical handovers and arrange transfers for patients requiring additional care.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will collaborate with nursing staff and colleagues to ensure efficient workflows and optimal patient outcomes. The role also encourages knowledge sharing and supporting best clinical practice within the wider veterinary network.

Team Size
The Veterinary Surgeon will work alongside an experienced team of veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, and support staff within a collaborative 24-hour hospital environment.

The hospital is a well-established 24-hour veterinary facility providing emergency, inpatient, and advanced care services. The practice benefits from modern facilities and equipment designed to support a wide range of diagnostic and surgical procedures.

As part of a wider veterinary network, the practice offers access to internal CPD opportunities, clinical communities, and professional collaboration across multiple sites.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon with several years of experience and a strong interest in emergency and critical care. Candidates should demonstrate excellent clinical and communication skills, with the ability to manage urgent cases effectively in a fast-paced environment.

A collaborative approach to teamwork and a commitment to maintaining high clinical standards will be essential for success in this role.
