Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a corporately owned 24-hour small animal hospital in Bolton who are seeking a Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in emergency and critical care to join their team. This position offers the opportunity to work with a varied caseload in a well-equipped hospital environment that prioritises clinical excellence and accessible veterinary care for all.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time role working on a 7-on, 14-off rota pattern, averaging 31.1 hours per week. The rota is designed to allow for extended rest periods while still enabling you to be part of an active and busy hospital team.
Role Description
You will manage a diverse range of medical and surgical cases, including weekly orthopaedic procedures, with access to advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities. Your role will involve inpatient care, emergency case management, and collaboration with an experienced veterinary team to ensure high standards of patient care.
Team Size
You will be joining a large and dedicated team including multiple veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, student nurses, and support staff, all working together within a non-hierarchical, collaborative environment.
Practice Details
The Bolton hospital features eight consulting rooms, three theatres, a dedicated dental suite, a CT scanner, and separate dog and cat wards, including a specialist ICU ward for intensive nursing care. The practice operates with a strong community-focused ethos, providing free consultations and transparent pricing to ensure no pet is left untreated when a viable treatment option exists.
