Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned 24-hour veterinary hospital in Watford, Hertfordshire seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its dedicated night team. This is an excellent opportunity for an RVN with an interest in emergency and critical care who wants a strong work-life balance alongside exposure to a varied overnight hospital caseload.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a permanent, part-time night position working seven nights on followed by 14 nights off. The successful candidate will work alongside another RVN and a Veterinary Surgeon each night. Additional shifts are also available for colleagues who would like to increase their earnings.

Role Description
The successful RVN will provide overnight nursing care across emergency, critical care and inpatient cases, supporting emergency consultations and helping ensure the smooth running of the hospital throughout the night.

Responsibilities will include patient monitoring, inpatient care, admissions and discharges, Schedule 3 activities and supporting Veterinary Surgeons with emergency procedures and treatments. The varied caseload provides excellent opportunities to further develop emergency and critical care nursing skills.

Team Size
The night team includes a Veterinary Surgeon and two RVNs, ensuring the successful candidate has clinical support throughout each shift. They will also work as part of a wider experienced multidisciplinary hospital team.

Practice Details & Equipment
The modern 24-hour hospital provides emergency, critical care and inpatient services and manages a broad range of overnight cases. Facilities include CT, digital X-ray, dental X-ray, ultrasound, scopes and a ventilator, providing strong diagnostic and treatment capabilities for more complex patients.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys emergency, critical care and inpatient nursing. They should be confident monitoring hospitalised patients, responding to changing clinical situations and working collaboratively within an overnight hospital team.

A strong commitment to patient care, good communication skills and an interest in developing emergency and critical care nursing experience are essential.
