Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a well-equipped 24-hour veterinary hospital based in Greater London. The hospital handles a wide and complex caseload, offering exposure to both first-opinion and advanced care within a modern clinical setting.
This Night Registered Veterinary Nurse role provides an excellent opportunity to further develop medical and surgical nursing skills while working alongside experienced Veterinary Surgeons and RVNs in a busy hospital environment.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a permanent Night Registered Veterinary Nurse position working a shift pattern of 7 nights on followed by 14 nights off. The role is based within a 24-hour hospital setting, providing continuous inpatient and emergency care.
Role Description
In this role, you will deliver exceptional standards of patient and client care throughout night shifts. Responsibilities include supporting surgeries and procedures, completing all pre- and post-procedure activities, carrying out nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities, and providing comprehensive patient monitoring.
You will manage admissions and discharges as directed by the veterinary team, coordinate patient transfers for out-of-hours or enhanced care, and dispense and check medications in line with regulatory and operational standards.
The role also includes leading briefings to engage and coordinate the team to ensure the smooth and effective running of the hospital overnight. This position offers strong exposure to a complex caseload and the opportunity to work within a highly professional hospital environment.
Team Size
You will work alongside Veterinary Surgeons and experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses within a busy 24-hour hospital team, collaborating to provide high standards of clinical care.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse with experience delivering exceptional patient and client care. You will be confident working as part of a team and supporting nurse consultations, understanding their contribution to overall practice performance and efficiency.
Experience in coaching or influencing colleagues is desirable, along with strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain professional excellence in a busy hospital environment.
