Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a corporately owned practice based in Ellesmere Port, seeking a Night Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse who thrives in emergency and critical care to contribute to a progressive, mission-led organisation focused on providing accessible veterinary treatment.
Working Hours / Rota
This position operates on a 5 on / 5 off rota, averaging 42 hours per week. You will be part of a supportive night team, with a focus on inpatient care and emergency response during night hours.
Role Description
As a Night Veterinary Nurse, you will be at the heart of inpatient care, responsible for monitoring and supporting animals overnight. You will assist in theatre, conduct triage assessments, perform emergency procedures, and contribute to efficient case handovers. This is a hands-on role with excellent exposure to ECC cases, ideal for a nurse looking to build on their skills in a clinically stimulating and rewarding environment.
Team Size
You will be working as part of a dedicated night team and supported by a wider multidisciplinary clinical team. The practice operates with a flat hierarchy, meaning every team member’s voice is heard and valued in daily decision-making and clinical planning.
Practice Details
This clinic is part of a unique Community Interest Company (CIC), where the focus is on affordable care rather than profit. With a mission to ensure no pet goes untreated, the team offers free consultations and accessible pricing to help break financial barriers to care. The practice is well-equipped to handle emergency and critical care cases and is driven by a strong commitment to ethical and inclusive veterinary services.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse with previous experience in emergency or critical care nursing. You’ll be passionate about clinical excellence, confident in a fast-paced environment, and motivated by delivering compassionate and accessible veterinary care. A team-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills are essential, along with a willingness to support colleagues and patients during out-of-hours care.
