Job Description

Introduction
Our Client is an independently owned, not-for-profit veterinary hospital providing accessible, affordable, high-quality veterinary care. As the UK’s only veterinary Community Interest Company (CIC), the organisation is committed to removing financial barriers to treatment through free daytime consultations and transparent pricing. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Night Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a dedicated emergency and critical care team delivering exceptional overnight patient care.

Working Hours / Rota
This role follows a 5-on, 5-off rota, averaging 40.25 hours per week. Night shifts are from 8:00pm to 8:30am.

Role Description
As a Night Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will work alongside another RVN to provide outstanding overnight care for inpatients and emergency cases. Responsibilities include monitoring hospitalised patients, assisting in theatre, triaging emergencies and supporting emergency procedures throughout the night. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys emergency and critical care, working within a supportive hospital environment where no two shifts are the same.

Team Size
You will be part of a dedicated overnight team consisting of two Registered Veterinary Nurses, a Night Care Assistant, a Twilight Veterinary Surgeon, a Full Night Veterinary Surgeon and a Receptionist, ensuring comprehensive patient care throughout the night.

Practice Details
The hospital provides first opinion, emergency and inpatient care with a strong commitment to accessible, affordable veterinary services. Its transparent pricing and varied caseload create an excellent environment for nurses looking to develop their emergency and critical care skills while working within a collaborative hospital team.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse with a passion for emergency and critical care nursing. You will be confident working in a fast-paced hospital environment, enjoy managing emergency and inpatient cases, and be committed to delivering the highest standards of patient care. Excellent communication skills, teamwork and a calm approach under pressure are essential.
