Introduction
Our Client is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to lead their clinical team in Telford. This is a leadership opportunity for a vet with a genuine passion for both people and pets, who is motivated to coach and mentor colleagues while maintaining high standards of patient care.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week across 4 days.

The rota includes 2 in 9 weekends, worked at a nearby hospital site. Weekend shifts are not sole charge.

Role Description
You will lead a team of Veterinary Surgeons, ensuring high clinical standards are consistently delivered through coaching, mentoring and structured development.

Working closely with the Practice Manager and Lead Nurse, you will play a central role in the day-to-day running of the clinic. Responsibilities include supporting team performance, leading staff and clinical governance meetings, conducting 1-2-1s and performance reviews, and contributing to overall clinic success.

You will also be involved in reviewing clinic KPIs and P&L performance to help ensure the continued growth and sustainability of the hospital.

Alongside leadership responsibilities, you will manage a varied caseload and maintain a strong clinical presence within the practice.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise and a passion for mentoring and supporting colleagues. Excellent communication skills are essential, both with clients and within the veterinary team.

You will either hold or be willing to obtain a VetGDP qualification. While business experience reviewing KPIs and P&L is desirable, it is not essential, and candidates with an interest in developing these skills are welcomed.

Previous experience conducting 1-2-1 meetings, performance management and leading team or governance meetings is required. Confidence in leadership and the ability to foster an inclusive, supportive working culture are key attributes for this role.
