Our Client is a corporately owned practice seeking a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join a supportive and collaborative team. This role offers the opportunity to combine hands-on clinical work with leadership responsibilities while helping guide the clinical development of the practice.

Role Description
The Lead Veterinary Surgeon will be responsible for delivering high standards of clinical care through consultations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures while supporting the development of the wider veterinary team.

The role includes assessing and treating patients, preparing tailored treatment plans, and maintaining clear communication with clients regarding patient care. In addition to clinical duties, the Lead Veterinary Surgeon will mentor colleagues, promote clinical best practices, and contribute to maintaining a positive and collaborative team culture.

The successful candidate will also help guide the clinical direction of the practice, ensuring high standards of regulatory compliance and operational efficiency are consistently maintained.

Team Size
The Lead Veterinary Surgeon will work alongside a team of veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, and client care staff within a supportive multidisciplinary practice.

Practice Details
The practice is a well-equipped small animal facility with access to modern diagnostic and surgical equipment. Clinical facilities include digital imaging, in-house laboratory equipment, and ultrasound services.

The practice operates within a hub-and-spoke network that provides access to a nearby 24-hour hospital offering advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment. The team is also working toward achieving recognition as a cat friendly clinic, supporting a patient-focused approach to feline care.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon holding MRCVS status with strong clinical and communication skills. Candidates should demonstrate leadership ability, a collaborative approach to teamwork, and the confidence to support the development of colleagues within the practice.
