Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned practice seeking a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established team. This role combines clinical responsibilities with leadership duties, offering the opportunity to support team development while delivering high-quality patient care.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position working 4 days per week with 1 in 3 Saturdays.

Role Description
The Lead Veterinary Surgeon will play a key role in delivering high standards of clinical care through consultations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures while also supporting the development of the wider clinical team.

Responsibilities include assessing and treating patients, creating tailored treatment plans, and maintaining clear communication with clients. The role also involves mentoring colleagues, supporting professional development within the team, and helping maintain a positive and collaborative working environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership within the practice to support clinical standards, contribute to operational success, and help guide the long-term development of the practice.

Team Size
The veterinary surgeon will work alongside an experienced team of veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, and client care staff within a supportive multidisciplinary practice.

Practice Details
The practice is a well-equipped small animal facility currently undergoing refurbishment. The clinical environment includes modern diagnostic and surgical equipment designed to support high-quality veterinary care.

The practice also benefits from access to a nearby 24-hour hospital, providing additional support for advanced imaging, surgery, and hospitalisation when required. The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon holding MRCVS status with strong clinical and communication skills. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to lead by example, mentor colleagues, and contribute to a supportive team culture.
