Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned Hospital seeking a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their 24-hour site. The successful candidate will become part of a collaborative team that manages a diverse caseload, ranging from routine consultations to complex emergency and critical care cases.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week with 1 in 6 weekends.
Role Description
The Head Registered Veterinary Nurse will play a key role in leading the nursing team and ensuring the delivery of outstanding patient and client care. Responsibilities include supporting surgical and medical procedures, carrying out nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities, overseeing patient monitoring, admissions, and discharges, and ensuring compliance with clinical, regulatory, and operational standards. The role also involves coordinating and engaging the team through regular briefings to maintain efficient daily practice operations and uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence.
Team Size
The hospital is supported by a large, skilled team of Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, Student Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Care Assistants, and Client Care Assistants. The successful candidate will work closely with senior clinicians and nursing staff within a supportive and professional environment.

This corporately owned 24-hour hospital is a modern, fully equipped facility located in central London. The site manages both routine and emergency cases and offers access to advanced diagnostics and procedures, including CT, endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery, and orthopaedics. The hospital provides continuous inpatient and emergency care, supported by an experienced clinical team and state-of-the-art facilities.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse with previous leadership or senior nursing experience. They will demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, confidence in coordinating clinical teams, and a proactive approach to supporting nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures. A passion for patient care, team development, and maintaining high standards of clinical practice is essential.
