Job Description

Introduction
Our Client’s practice is opening a brand-new veterinary surgery and is looking for a Head Nurse to help build and lead the nursing team from day one.

Working Hours / Rota
The role is full-time, working 4 x 9-hour days with an average working week of 39 hours. The rota includes evenings, a 1 in 4 weekend rotation, and nurse care nights, with accommodation provided when required. Flexible working options will be considered.

Role Description
As Head Nurse, you will lead, support and develop the nursing team, ensuring excellent patient care, a positive client experience and smooth day-to-day operations. You will oversee nurse clinics, inpatient care and theatre standards, while helping to shape the culture, standards and ways of working within a brand-new practice. The role also includes supporting student nurses and clinical coaching, with a strong focus on fully utilising nursing skills, including Schedule 3 procedures.

This is a new surgery, offering the opportunity to help build the nursing team and create a collaborative, supportive working environment from the beginning.
