Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a non-profit, community-focused veterinary group seeking an experienced Roving Registered Veterinary Nurse to support clinics and hospitals across Merseyside and North Wales. This is an excellent opportunity for an RVN who enjoys variety, working with different teams and experiencing a range of clinical environments rather than being based permanently at one practice.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position working 40 hours across four days per week. The rota includes a share of weekends and bank holidays, with specific frequencies not provided. The successful candidate will have a home clinic in Ellesmere Port and travel between sites in Ellesmere Port, Liverpool, Birkenhead and Rhyl according to business needs, with reasonable notice provided wherever possible. Mileage will be paid in line with the mileage policy.
Role Description
The successful Roving RVN will provide high-quality nursing support across first opinion clinics and hospital environments. Duties will vary between locations and can include inpatient and hospitalised patient care, theatre nursing, anaesthesia and supporting clinical teams during particularly busy periods.
The position requires the ability to adapt quickly to different caseloads, teams and clinical environments while maintaining consistently high standards of patient and client care. Working across multiple sites also provides excellent exposure to different cases and ways of working, alongside funded CPD for continued development.
Team Size
The successful candidate will work alongside a variety of Veterinary Surgeons, RVNs and support colleagues across multiple sites in Merseyside and North Wales. Specific team numbers vary between locations and have not been provided.
Practice Details
The role covers a combination of veterinary clinics and hospitals across Ellesmere Port, Liverpool, Birkenhead and Rhyl. This provides exposure to different clinical environments and caseloads while supporting teams wherever additional nursing resource is required.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse who is confident in inpatient care, theatre nursing and anaesthesia. They should be comfortable entering different clinical environments, quickly understanding what each team needs and adapting to changing priorities.
Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, alongside a positive and flexible approach. Candidates must also be comfortable travelling regularly between practices across Merseyside and North Wales.
