Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a practice seeking a Full or Part Time Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and progressive team. This opportunity would suit an early-career vet or someone with more experience who is looking for a supportive environment where ideas are welcomed, wellbeing is prioritised, and high clinical standards are central to daily practice.
Working Hours / Rota
The role is available on a full-time or part-time basis, offering flexibility to suit individual circumstances. Consultations are scheduled at 15-minute intervals, with regular breaks and protected admin time built into the day to allow for notes, client communications, and case discussions. This structure is designed to support a healthy work–life balance and ensure the working day finishes on time. Further details around rota patterns can be discussed during the recruitment process.
Role Description
This role offers a balanced mix of medical and surgical cases in a modern, light, and spacious clinical environment. You will deliver high-quality patient care through consults, diagnostics, and surgery while working closely with colleagues to share knowledge and ideas. Regular team meetings encourage collaboration and continuous improvement, and admin time during the day supports thorough record keeping and client communication. This is an excellent opportunity for a vet who enjoys practising medicine to a high standard while being part of a genuinely supportive and inclusive team.
Team Size
You will join an enthusiastic and skilled multidisciplinary team, including experienced veterinary surgeons, a highly qualified nursing team, and supportive client care staff, all of whom work collaboratively and contribute to shaping the clinic’s development.
Practice Details
The practice is well equipped with separate cat, dog, and exotic wards to reduce patient stress, a dedicated dental suite, a separate imaging room, and a comprehensive in-house laboratory. Facilities also include multiple spacious consultation rooms, a large waiting area with separate zones for different patients, and a dedicated, calm euthanasia room designed to support clients during difficult moments. The practice is eco-conscious, operating with reusable clinical charts, composting initiatives, and even an on-site herb garden for rabbits. A wildlife fund enables treatment of stray animals and wildlife, further reflecting the practice’s strong community focus.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon who is confident in managing a mixture of medical and surgical cases and values teamwork and open communication. This role would suit both early-career vets seeking development and more experienced clinicians looking for a positive, supportive workplace. A commitment to excellent patient care, willingness to share ideas, and enthusiasm for maintaining high clinical standards are essential.
