Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned practice seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their long-established clinic in Stevenage. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident vet with at least one year of experience to develop their all-round GP skills within a busy and supportive practice, benefiting from a large and loyal client base.

Working Hours / Rota
The position is full time, working four days per week from 9am to 7pm at the Stevenage branch. Weekend commitment is either one in six full weekends at a nearby hospital or one in three Saturdays supporting up to three nearby branches, depending on business needs. Out-of-hours cover is provided externally, ensuring sustainable work-life balance.

Role Description
As Veterinary Surgeon, you will provide exceptional care during consultations and procedures, ensuring clear and supportive communication with clients. You will prepare accurate treatment plans and estimates, maintain detailed patient records, and ensure smooth clinical handovers. The role includes contributing to the commercial performance of the practice, mentoring colleagues, and promoting a positive clinical culture. With a refurbishment planned for 2025, you will also have the opportunity to work within an upgraded facility offering enhanced resources and a refreshed working environment.

Team Size
You will work alongside a supportive Lead Vet with over 20 years of experience and a wider veterinary team of four, with 2–3 vets on site each day. The team is supported by a strong group of registered veterinary nurses and a dedicated reception team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and excellent patient care.

Practice Details
The Stevenage clinic is well equipped, with out-of-hours provision managed by a local referral centre to ensure continuity of patient care. The practice has a loyal client base built up over many years and enjoys a varied caseload. A major refurbishment scheduled for late 2025 will further expand and modernise the facilities, making this an exciting time to join.

Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will be an RCVS-registered veterinary surgeon with at least one year of post-graduate experience. You will be confident with routine consultations and general procedures, and eager to continue developing your GP skills. Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills are essential, as is a commitment to excellent patient and client care. The ability to contribute to a supportive and progressive team culture will help you thrive in this role.
