Job Description
Introduction
Our Client’s practice is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with strong GP experience to join their modern Rotherham surgery. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident clinician, ideally with a special interest in dentistry, to work within a progressive, well-equipped environment focused on delivering exceptional patient care.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position working 39 hours per week with a shared weekend rota.
Role Description
You will be responsible for delivering preventive healthcare services, diagnosing and treating sick and injured pets, and promoting overall pet wellbeing. The role involves a varied GP caseload with opportunities to develop a particular interest in dentistry. You will work collaboratively with both clinical and non-clinical colleagues, ensuring excellent communication with clients and maintaining high clinical standards. The practice encourages ongoing professional development and supports colleagues working towards certificates to enhance clinical services.
Team Size
You will be joining a friendly and supportive team with a broad range of clinical interests. Many team members are currently working towards additional certifications, fostering a collaborative and progressive learning culture.
Practice Details
The practice is purpose-built, modern, light and spacious, designed to provide a calm and professional environment for patients, clients and staff. Facilities include 9 consultation rooms, 4 operating theatres, 1 dental suite, an ultrasound suite and a CT suite housing a 128-slice CT scanner. There are 2 dog wards, 2 cat wards and 2 preparation areas, supporting a high standard of medical and surgical care. The practice forms part of a large independent, family-owned veterinary group with a strong nationwide presence.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of UK GP experience and be confident managing a varied small animal caseload. A special interest in dentistry would be advantageous. You will be an excellent communicator, a strong team player and passionate about delivering evidence-based, gold standard care. A proactive attitude towards continued professional development and clinical excellence is essential.
