Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a well-established, 100% small animal practice located in the heart of Redditch. RCVS Practice Standards Scheme registered and proud of its supportive team culture, the clinic offers a friendly and enjoyable workplace where collaboration and mutual support are central to daily practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys a varied caseload and values working within a close-knit, positive team environment.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a permanent position working between 30 and 37 hours per week. The rota consists of 3 or 4 days per week plus 1 in 4 Saturdays (9am–2pm).
There are no out-of-hours requirements and no bank holiday working.
Role Description
The role offers a balanced mix of consultations and surgical procedures, alongside occasional sole-charge shifts. You will have clinical freedom to work up your own cases while benefiting from the support of an experienced and collaborative team.
Responsibilities also include maintaining high standards of clinical care and supporting and mentoring veterinary students when they are on placement within the practice.
The environment encourages teamwork and shared learning, ensuring a cohesive and professional atmosphere throughout the clinic.
Team and Practice Environment
You will join a close-knit team comprising four full-time equivalent Veterinary Surgeons, six RVNs, four Receptionists and a Practice Manager. The team works collaboratively across all areas of the practice, fostering a genuinely supportive and positive working culture.
As part of a wider veterinary group, the practice also provides access to additional learning resources and specialist support when required.
Training and Development
The practice is committed to professional growth and development. CPD is actively funded and encouraged, and there are opportunities for mentoring with visiting peripatetic surgeons. The team values continuous learning and progression within a supportive framework.
Location
Redditch offers excellent transport links and convenient commuting options. The practice is located close to local shops and amenities, with Birmingham just 15 miles away. Beautiful surrounding countryside provides an ideal balance of urban convenience and green space.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced, confident Veterinary Surgeon comfortable in general practice and occasional sole charge. You will be RCVS registered, team-focused and committed to delivering high standards of patient and client care.
A friendly and supportive approach, along with the ability to integrate naturally into a relaxed yet professional working environment, is essential.
