Job Description
Introduction
Our client is a corporately owned practice seeking a confident and forward-thinking Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and experienced team in Bamber Bridge. This is an exciting opportunity for a vet with at least three years of small animal experience who enjoys a varied caseload of consulting and surgery. With the chance to shape the future of a busy, community-loved clinic, this role offers genuine scope for professional development, leadership, and mentoring.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time role worked across a 4-day week with no OOHs. The rota includes a fair share of weekends, either 1:3 Saturdays or 1:6 full weekends. Flexible working arrangements can be discussed to support a strong work-life balance.
Role Description
The successful candidate will deliver high standards of clinical care across consultations, procedures, admissions, and discharges. You will provide clear updates to clients, prepare accurate treatment plans, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and practice standards. This role also offers the opportunity to mentor and develop less experienced vets, contribute to clinical leadership within the practice, and play a part in shaping the future environment and culture of the clinic.
Team Size
You will join a welcoming team of six vets, including a surgery certificate holder, alongside a supportive nursing and client care team and a dedicated Practice Manager. The practice also benefits from strong collaboration with the nearby 24-hour hospital and surrounding branches, ensuring excellent clinical support for more complex cases.
Practice Details
This award-winning practice, locally known as Withy Grove Vets, is situated in a vibrant suburban location with excellent transport links to Manchester, Liverpool, the Lake District, and the surrounding countryside. The building itself is more traditional in style but is equipped with a wide range of surgical and diagnostic tools, providing scope for growth and development within the practice. The team is passionate about offering a personal, compassionate service to a loyal client base while creating a collaborative and supportive environment for staff.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon with a minimum of three years’ UK small animal experience. You should be confident in both surgery and consultations, demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills, and enjoy mentoring newer graduates. Clinical leadership experience and an interest in shaping and improving a practice would be highly desirable. This role is perfect for someone who is ready to make a meaningful impact within a progressive, community-focused clinic.
