Job Description

Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned practice seeking a Weekend Veterinary Surgeon to join their experienced team in Norwich Sprowston. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic vet to take on a weekend-only role within a supportive and progressive environment.

Working Hours / Rota
This role is weekend only, 15 hours per week. Shifts are Saturdays 9am–6pm and Sundays 10:30am–4:30pm. A Saturday-only option will also be considered. There are no OOH requirements and no sole charge.

Role Description
The position involves consultations and general practice veterinary work, with the option for this to be a consult-only role if preferred. The practice offers a varied caseload and clinical freedom, supported by colleagues with advanced training and specialist interests.

Team Size
The team includes multiple experienced Vets, RVNs, SVNs, and support staff. Colleagues hold certificates in Surgery and Ophthalmology, with the practice also accepting orthopaedic and ophthalmology referrals.

Practice Details
This is a busy, well-established practice with modern facilities including ultrasound, digital X-ray, endoscopy, slit lamp, gonioscope, tonometry, orthopaedic kit, multiparameter monitoring, and a full in-house laboratory. The practice is committed to staff wellbeing, with a mental health first aider on site and the BVA good workplace guide implemented. Norwich offers excellent access to the Norfolk coast, the Broads, and direct links to London in around two hours.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with strong general practice skills across surgery and medicine. They will be competent and confident in consultations, routine procedures, and patient care, with excellent communication skills and a team-focused attitude.
