Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned practice seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their busy first-opinion practice in Merthyr Tydfil.
This is an excellent opportunity for a vet who enjoys both surgery and medicine to work alongside an established Branch Partner and a collaborative team in a high-caseload environment.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time role working 40 hours over 4 days per week.
The rota includes 1 in 4 Saturdays.
Part-time options are available and can be discussed to suit individual lifestyle needs.
Role Description
You will deliver high standards of clinical care across both consultations and surgery, managing a varied and busy caseload that includes a significant number of emergency and critical care cases.
Working closely with a supportive nursing team who actively undertake Schedule 3 procedures, you will contribute to a collaborative and progressive clinical culture.
You will develop tailored treatment plans, communicate clearly with clients and support the ongoing development of the wider clinical team.
Team Size
You will work alongside the Branch Partner, a dedicated team of Veterinary Surgeons and a proactive nursing team committed to maintaining high standards of patient care.
Practice Details
The spacious practice features three consulting rooms, an operating theatre and an imaging room.
The clinic supports a high volume of ECC cases and works alongside external ultrasound providers when required.
Located in Merthyr Tydfil, the practice benefits from strong road links to Cardiff and the M4, with easy access to the Brecon Beacons for outdoor pursuits.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon with experience in both surgery and medicine.
You will thrive in a busy first-opinion environment, demonstrate strong teamwork skills and maintain a commitment to clinical excellence and client care.
A proactive, collaborative approach and confidence managing a varied caseload are essential for this role.
