Job Description

Introduction
Our client is a corporately owned 24-hour small animal hospital in Failsworth who are seeking a passionate Veterinary Surgeon to join their growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a varied caseload, primarily consisting of sick and injured pets, within a supportive and well-equipped hospital environment.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week over four days, with 2:9 weekends included in the rota. The rota is designed to allow for a healthy work-life balance while ensuring you have exposure to an interesting and varied caseload.

Role Description
You will manage a wide range of cases, from affordable first-opinion consultations to complex referral surgeries, supported by the hospital’s A&E department. The role will give you the opportunity to focus on diagnostics, surgery, and medical case management, while still maintaining a connection to first-opinion care.

Team Size
You will work alongside a highly skilled team of veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, and support staff, all working together to provide exceptional, affordable care for pets and their owners.

Practice Details
The Failsworth hospital operates 24/7 and offers affordable veterinary services without compromising on quality. With advanced diagnostic and surgical capabilities, separate dog and cat wards, and a busy emergency service, the hospital offers a stimulating and rewarding working environment. The practice operates under a Community Interest Company model, meaning all profits are reinvested into the mission of making veterinary care accessible for everyone.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced small animal vet with a strong interest in delivering high-quality, accessible care. You should be confident managing a varied caseload and enjoy collaborating within a large, multi-disciplinary team. A commitment to the practice’s ethos of affordable, compassionate veterinary medicine is essential.
