Job Description

Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned practice seeking a Senior Veterinary Surgeon to lead and support a growing team in a busy, established London practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a veterinary professional looking to take on a senior role, manage a diverse caseload, and contribute to clinical excellence within a supportive network.

Rota Details
This is a 4-day week role with alternating Mondays and Tuesdays off, averaging 40.4 hours per week. The rota includes a 1:4 Saturday rotation, 1:8 Sunday rotation at a regional hospital, up to 2 bank holidays per year, and involvement in a regional on-call rotation. The schedule also includes approximately six short twilight shifts per year.

Information About the Practice
The practice has recently invested in ultrasound facilities to support its varied surgical and medical caseload. The team includes full-time and part-time vets, RVNs, and trainee nurses, all supported by an experienced regional manager and regional head vet. Complex cases and OOH care are supported by a 24-hour hospital. The practice is well-located with excellent transport links and a vibrant surrounding community.

Description of the Role
The Senior Veterinary Surgeon will lead clinical work within the practice, manage a busy surgical caseload, mentor colleagues, and ensure high-quality patient care. You will balance consultations, routine surgeries, administrative responsibilities, and participate in regional clinical support networks.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a confident, experienced Veterinary Surgeon ready to take a senior leadership role. You should be comfortable managing a complex surgical and medical caseload, mentoring team members, and contributing to the practice’s development. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to patient care are essential.

Practice Equipment List
The practice is equipped for a full range of GP and surgical work, including ultrasound facilities, routine surgical setups, and access to regional 24-hour hospital support for complex cases and OOH care.
