Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned practice seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This opportunity sits within a modern, progressive veterinary group that is part of the UK’s largest independent, family-owned veterinary organisation, offering an excellent environment for professional growth, collaboration, and high-quality patient care.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time role typically structured around a four-day working week to support work–life balance. Each working day consists of a nine-hour shift that includes a balance of consulting and surgical duties. To support efficient working and reduce pressure outside of clinical time, every vet is allocated a dedicated hour each day for administrative tasks as part of the working day. The weekend rota follows a consistent one-in-four pattern. Flexible working arrangements are actively supported, and alternative patterns can be discussed to ensure the role fits individual needs wherever possible.
Role Description
The role involves delivering high standards of preventive care, diagnosing and treating a wide variety of conditions, and managing cases with consistency and attention to detail. There is a strong emphasis on early diagnostics, following treatment plans through thoroughly, and promoting overall pet wellbeing. The position suits a Veterinary Surgeon who is motivated by continuous clinical development and enjoys working within a supportive, close-knit team that includes both clinical and non-clinical colleagues. Ongoing improvement and learning are encouraged, allowing you to develop your interests while contributing meaningfully to patient outcomes and client satisfaction.
Team Size
You will work as part of a collaborative and supportive team made up of experienced Veterinary Surgeons, nurses, and non-clinical colleagues, all of whom share a strong commitment to teamwork and high-quality care.
Practice Details
The practice is a purpose-built, modern veterinary practice with excellent facilities and a strong focus on delivering outstanding care to animals day and night. The team benefits from a broad range of clinical experience, with many colleagues working towards or already holding additional certificates to enhance their skills and expand the services offered. As part of a large, nationwide veterinary group, the practice continues to invest in its people, facilities, and technology, creating a calm, professional environment for patients, clients, and staff alike.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a Veterinary Surgeon with over three years’ experience, including at least one year working in UK practice. You will have a clear passion for early diagnostics, a commitment to seeing cases through from start to finish, and a strong interest in continuous clinical development. Excellent communication skills, a collaborative attitude, and the ability to thrive in a supportive team environment are essential. A genuine focus on pet wellbeing and client care will underpin everything you do in this role.
