Our Client is an independently owned, charitable practice/hospital providing vital veterinary services to pets whose owners are experiencing financial hardship. Working Hours / Rota
This role is offered on a fixed-term contract of 12 months. Flexible working options are available to support work–life balance and individual circumstances. Working patterns will be discussed and agreed to suit both service needs and the successful candidate.

Role Description
The Veterinary Surgeon will manage a varied and challenging caseload, encompassing both medical and surgical cases, while delivering pragmatic, welfare-focused care tailored to each client’s circumstances. You will be responsible for making sound, evidence-based clinical decisions, discussing realistic treatment options, and creating clear and achievable care plans. The role involves close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to case discussions, shared learning, and continuous service improvement while championing the organisation’s charitable mission.

Team Size
You will work as part of a highly collaborative and experienced veterinary team with a wide range of clinical interests. The teams across both sites place a strong emphasis on teamwork, open discussion, and shared learning, providing excellent professional support and development opportunities.

Practice Details
The hospitals are modern and well equipped to support high-quality veterinary care. Facilities include separate dog and cat wards, in-house radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, piped gases, and extensive orthopaedic equipment. The clinical environment supports both routine and complex case management, allowing clinicians to develop their skills while delivering meaningful, community-focused care.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Veterinary Surgeon (MRCVS) with strong clinical confidence, adaptability, and resilience. You will be comfortable managing a diverse caseload and discussing realistic treatment options with clients in a compassionate and pragmatic manner. Excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare and community impact are essential.
