Job Description

Introduction
Our Client’s hospital is seeking a GP Veterinary Surgeon with a strong interest in dentistry to join their highly regarded team based in Morley, West Yorkshire. This role offers the opportunity to enjoy the diversity of general practice while developing and leading the dental service.

Working Hours / Rota
The rota consists of a 4-day working week with a 1:4 weekend rotation. There are no OOH requirements. An extra day off is provided following a weekend worked.

Role Description
This role involves delivering high-standard general practice care through consultations and a range of surgical procedures including routine, soft tissue, and advanced surgeries. The successful candidate will lead the dental service, managing cases from routine cleaning and check-ups to complex extractions and advanced procedures. They will also contribute to treatment planning and ongoing case management. There is strong opportunity for clinical development and autonomy, supported by a collaborative team environment.

Team Size
The hospital has a large, supportive team consisting of experienced veterinary surgeons, dedicated surgical nurses, and support staff. The team fosters a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and open communication.

Practice Details
The hospital is RCVS Tier 3 accredited and functions as a high-standard primary care and mid-tier referral facility. It operates with five satellite clinics and has outstanding in-patient and surgical facilities including dedicated wards for different species, an ICU, and an on-site lab. The practice is situated close to Leeds, with excellent access to both urban and rural surroundings.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be confident in all aspects of general practice and possess a strong interest in dentistry. They should be capable of independently performing a range of dental procedures, including extractions and root canals. A strong team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values high standards of client and patient care is essential.
