Job Description
Introduction
Our Client’s hospital in Morley, Leeds is seeking a confident and compassionate GP Veterinary Surgeon to join their high-performing clinical team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive environment that values clinical freedom, development, and a healthy work-life balance.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time role over a 4-day working week with a 1 in 4 weekend rota. An additional day off is provided following a weekend worked. There are no out-of-hours responsibilities.
Role Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical care across a varied caseload. Daily duties include consultations, diagnostics, treatment planning, and performing both routine and non-routine surgeries. You will work collaboratively within a supportive team of clinicians, contributing to the hospital’s commitment to excellent patient care and continuous clinical improvement.
Team Size
The hospital is staffed by a team of dedicated professionals, including general practitioners, certificate holders, and a highly skilled nursing and support team.
Practice Details
The hospital is a Tier 3 RCVS-accredited primary care and mid-tier referral facility with five satellite clinics. It features four theatres, a full imaging suite (X-ray, multiple ultrasound units, on-site CT, and visiting MRI), a dental suite with X-ray, rigid and flexible endoscopy including laparoscopy, and an on-site laboratory (haematology, biochemistry, coags, EPOC). Inpatient facilities include separate dog, cat, exotic, day/long stay wards, ICU, and seven consult rooms, with separate dog and cat waiting areas.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a confident GP vet with strong clinical decision-making abilities. They will have experience in diagnostics, consultations, and surgery, and be comfortable managing a busy caseload. A team-focused attitude, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative nature are essential for maintaining the positive and supportive team culture.
