Job Description

Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned practice offering an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a recently refurbished, modern first opinion practice. This is an excellent role for a vet looking to become an integral part of a growing practice, with the opportunity to influence clinical direction, develop personal interests, and help shape the future of the clinic. The practice has an established client base, excellent facilities, and a collaborative working culture where clinical autonomy is encouraged.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position, although part-time applications will also be considered. The rota includes 1 in 6 full weekends at a nearby 24-hour hospital, approximately one week of on-call duties per year, and participation in 1–2 Bank Holidays annually on a pro-rata basis for part-time colleagues. The role offers flexibility while providing a healthy work-life balance.

Role Description
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality first opinion veterinary care through a varied caseload of consultations and surgery. You will build strong client relationships, create tailored treatment plans, and work to the highest clinical and professional standards. This role offers genuine clinical freedom, with the opportunity to develop specific interests and influence the future caseload. The practice is committed to supporting professional development through funded certificates, structured career pathways, and access to a wider clinical network.

Team Size
You will be joining a welcoming and supportive team consisting of a Lead Veterinary Surgeon, an additional part-time Veterinary Surgeon, an experienced Head Veterinary Nurse, a Student Veterinary Nurse, and dedicated client care and support colleagues who work collaboratively to provide excellent patient care.

Practice Details & Equipment
The practice has recently undergone a full refurbishment, providing a bright, spacious, and modern working environment. Facilities include two large consulting rooms, a generously sized operating theatre, a spacious preparation area, ultrasound, digital radiography, dental x-ray, and separate dog and cat wards. The practice continues to invest in both equipment and services, with further investment available to support the successful candidate’s clinical interests and future development.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon who is passionate about delivering outstanding clinical care and building lasting client relationships. They will enjoy working as part of a supportive team while also valuing clinical autonomy. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic about developing their skills, contributing to the continued growth of the practice, and providing exceptional standards of patient care.
