Job Description

Introduction
Our Client’s practice is a family-owned, friendly and premium small animal veterinary practice offering a life-changing opportunity for a confident Vet Surgeon to join their community-focused team. This role would suit a vet who values client and case continuity, enjoys building trusted long-term relationships with clients, and wants to work in a purpose-driven environment where pets, people and the local community are at the heart of everything they do.

Working Hours / Rota
The role is available on a 4 or 5 day week, with flexibility around working patterns. The weekend rota is 1 in 4 weekends. There are no OOH duties, no on-call requirements and no bank holiday work.
Consults are 15 minutes long, allowing time to build relationships with clients and provide excellent continuity of care.

Role Description
This is a small animal first opinion Vet Surgeon role with a strong focus on client and case continuity. Clients are matched to their vet, meaning you will remain responsible for the ongoing health of their pets and develop trusted, long-term relationships.
The successful candidate will have complete clinical autonomy, supported by a dedicated team, with a focus on diagnostic choices, affordability and excellent patient care rather than sales targets. The role offers a varied caseload, supported training, clinical progression and the opportunity to help expand the practice’s services.
There are also future career development opportunities, including progression into Clinical Director or practice leadership roles.

Team Size
You will be joining a close, friendly team of 5 vets and 5 nurses. The practice places a strong emphasis on hiring great people, maintaining a supportive culture, and involving the team in future hires to ensure the working environment remains positive and collaborative.

Practice Details
The practice is family owned and designed to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for both clients and the veterinary team. Clinical areas are spacious, bright and filled with natural light, while the public areas are designed to feel homely and welcoming.
The practice provides a private inpatient reception and each vet benefits from their own personalised consult room. The practice also supports client and case continuity and is actively investing in its team, equipment, training and future clinical services, with a new purpose-built facility also in the pipeline.
The practice is also a Veterinary Nurse Training Centre and has special partnerships with Cats Protection and the National Fox Welfare Society.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a confident small animal Vet Surgeon with at least 1 year of experience, however the practice also happy to welcome more experienced vets who are looking for clinical autonomy, long-term case ownership and future leadership progression.
They will enjoy consulting as much as the clinical side of veterinary work and be passionate about building personal connections with clients. They should remain calm under pressure, work well within a close-knit team, value case continuity, and be happy to contribute to a positive working culture.
The practice is looking for someone who is passionate about excellent client care, clinical autonomy, community involvement and contributing to the development of a best-in-class practice.

Equipment
The practice is fully equipped with cat and dog kennels, dental x-ray, digital DR x-ray, laparoscopes and ultrasound.
