Job Description

Introduction
Our Client’s practice is seeking an experienced Vet Surgeon who is ready to take on a leadership-focused role within a growing, locally owned veterinary practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated vet to help shape clinical standards, protocols, and team development while continuing to grow their own skills and areas of clinical interest.

Working Hours / Rota
The role is ideally full time, however flexibility is available to accommodate alternative working patterns. The weekend rota is currently 1 in 3 Saturdays with limited cover to ensure fairness across the team. There will be an element of sole charge, but there are no out-of-hours responsibilities associated with this role.

Role Description
This position combines clinical responsibilities with leadership opportunities. The successful candidate will play a key role in mentoring junior team members, contributing to clinical protocols, and supporting the practice through an exciting period of growth and development. There is strong encouragement for pursuing certificates or postgraduate qualifications, allowing you to grow a clinical interest while maintaining a varied and engaging caseload.

Team Size
The team consists of 2 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse, 1 Veterinary Care Assistant, and 4 Client Care Assistants who form the reception team.

Practice Details
The practice is entering a dynamic new phase with an upcoming relaunch, rebrand, and future expansion plans. It offers modern facilities, excellent clinical space, and a supportive working environment under experienced leadership. The practice is based in Northamptonshire with easy access to countryside locations, local amenities, and direct train links to London.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Vet Surgeon who is confident working occasionally in sole charge and motivated to develop their leadership skills. You will be passionate about mentoring junior colleagues, contributing to high clinical standards, and helping shape the future direction of the practice. An interest in developing a clinical specialty would be welcomed and supported.
