Our client is a well-established practice located in Pype Hayes, Birmingham. Just 15 minutes from the city centre and close to Sutton Coldfield, this long-standing site offers a supportive environment and a varied caseload. With a team of six Veterinary Surgeons and a large, experienced nursing team, the practice thrives on delivering high-quality patient care in a well-equipped, collaborative setting.

Working Hours / Rota

This is a full-time permanent position working 40 hours per week, with 2 in 5 Saturdays (9am–4pm). The client is also open to discussing part-time hours to suit the right candidate.

Role Description

The successful candidate will join a dedicated and friendly team providing a diverse mix of medical and surgical cases. You will work alongside experienced colleagues, including an Orthopaedic Surgeon, allowing you to build on your clinical skills while contributing to the ongoing development of the practice. You’ll be expected to engage in case continuity, mentor junior team members, and deliver excellent care to patients and clients alike.

Team Size

You will be joining a team of six Veterinary Surgeons supported by a large and capable nursing team. The team benefits from a strong internal referral structure and works collaboratively to maintain excellent clinical standards.

Practice Details

This practice is equipped with a wide range of modern diagnostic and surgical tools including an ultrasound scanner, digital x-ray, and a dedicated dental machine. An experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon is on the team, allowing the practice to manage complex fracture and orthopaedic cases in-house. The practice maintains a busy and varied caseload in both routine and advanced procedures.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys a balanced clinical role across medicine and surgery. A strong team ethic, excellent communication skills, and an enthusiasm for high clinical standards are essential. The role suits a vet looking to work within a busy, supportive practice that offers clinical autonomy alongside structured team collaboration.
