Job Description

Introduction
Our Client’s clinic in Birkenhead is seeking a passionate Veterinary Surgeon with at least 2 years’ experience to join their team. The clinic is committed to delivering high-quality, affordable veterinary care, providing an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse and rewarding caseload.

Working Hours / Rota
This role is based on a 38-hour week across 4 days, offering a strong work-life balance. The rota includes 1 in 9 Saturdays, with no out-of-hours (OOH) requirements stated.

Role Description
This role offers exposure to a varied caseload, primarily consisting of sick and injured pets, including complex orthopaedic and medical cases. You will be responsible for delivering high standards of clinical care, managing cases effectively, and working collaboratively within the team. The role also offers opportunities to develop advanced skills, including exposure to services such as cardiac scanning, alongside ongoing CPD support.

Team Size
You will be part of a supportive and inclusive team, working alongside experienced veterinary professionals in a collaborative, non-hierarchical environment.

Practice Details
The clinic is well-equipped with 7 consulting rooms, 2 theatres, an X-ray suite, and separate dog and cat wards, with cat-friendly accreditation. The practice handles a wide range of cases and is equipped to support advanced diagnostics and treatments, including cardiac scanning.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a minimum of 2 years’ experience, who is passionate about delivering high-quality care. You will enjoy working in a busy environment, be confident managing a varied caseload, and demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills.
