Introduction
Our Client’s practice in Aberdare is a friendly and community-focused small animal surgery located in the heart of the Cynon Valley. The practice offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon seeking a rewarding balance of medicine and surgery within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

The practice has a loyal and welcoming client base and benefits from a strong clinical team committed to maintaining high standards of patient care while encouraging professional development and teamwork.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a part-time role working 3 days per week from 9am–6pm.

The rota includes 1 in 4 Saturdays at the nearby Merthyr Tydfil practice.

Role Description
The successful Veterinary Surgeon will manage a varied first opinion caseload involving both medicine and surgery while delivering exceptional standards of patient and client care. The role offers strong collaboration with the Branch Partner, experienced Veterinary Surgeons and a highly supportive nursing team.

Responsibilities include consultations, surgery, diagnostics, treatment planning and collaborative case management while maintaining excellent clinical and operational standards.

The position also offers excellent opportunities for professional development through funded certificates, internal CPD and access to wider clinical communities and hospital support.

Team Size
The practice team includes the Branch Partner, a supportive group of Veterinary Surgeons and experienced nurses who actively undertake Schedule 3 procedures, creating a collaborative and progressive clinical environment.

Located in Aberdare within the Cynon Valley, the practice benefits from a strong local community feel alongside excellent access to the wider South Wales region. The surgery provides a welcoming working environment with a loyal client base and strong emphasis on teamwork and clinical standards.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon with experience across both medicine and surgery. Applicants should enjoy working collaboratively within a supportive team environment and be passionate about delivering excellent patient and client care.
