Job Description
Introduction
Our Client’s practice is a long-established small animal clinic with a loyal client base and strong growth in recent years. Due to increasing demand, they are seeking an additional part-time RVN to support their expanding caseload within a friendly, well-supported and community-focused environment.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a part-time position working 2 days per week on Mondays and Tuesdays, with 8-hour shifts. The role includes a 1:3 Saturday rotation shared between nearby branches, a 1:10 Sunday rotation supporting a local hospital team, and 1 bank holiday per year. There are no on-call requirements, and there is flexibility to explore full-time opportunities if desired.
Role Description
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high standards of nursing care while supporting veterinary surgeons during both consultations and surgical procedures. Duties include maintaining accurate patient records, ensuring excellent patient welfare, managing stock and supplies, sterilising and maintaining equipment, and assisting with reception duties when required. You will also support student nurses and VCAs, contribute to team training, and help maintain a collaborative and positive working environment. This is a varied role offering a strong balance of clinical and client-facing responsibilities, with opportunities for continued development.
Team Size
You will be joining an experienced and supportive team consisting of a senior vet, a highly experienced part-time RVN with long-standing service, VCAs, and additional developing team members, with further recruitment planned to support ongoing growth.
Practice Details
The practice is well-equipped and long-established, featuring two consultation rooms, a dedicated theatre, and a large separate prep room. It benefits from strong support from a nearby hospital for out-of-hours care and complex referrals. The clinic also offers excellent transport links and parking options, as well as outdoor space for staff to enjoy during breaks.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a qualified RVN, including newly qualified nurses, with a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. You will be a strong team player with excellent communication skills, a proactive and organised approach to your work, and a willingness to support and mentor junior team members. A positive attitude and commitment to both patient and client care are essential.
