Our Client is an independently owned veterinary hospital located within a university campus, offering a unique opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to combine excellent clinical nursing with the rewarding experience of supporting the next generation of veterinary professionals. Working within a modern, purpose-built hospital, you’ll join a collaborative team dedicated to delivering outstanding patient care across a varied caseload.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position working a four-day week, with shifts scheduled between 7:30am and 7:30pm. Typical shifts include 7:30am–5:30pm, 8:00am–6:00pm and 9:30am–7:30pm. Weekend duties are shared on a one-in-four rota, working Saturday and Sunday from 8:00am–7:00pm, with time off in lieu provided for every weekend worked. There is also a separate non-core hours opportunity available for candidates interested in alternative working patterns.

Role Description
This varied hospital-based role offers the opportunity to work across consultations, theatre, inpatient care and patient recovery, providing exceptional nursing care to a diverse medical and surgical caseload. Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you will play an important role in supporting and mentoring veterinary students during their placements, helping them develop practical skills and confidence within a real hospital environment. Working closely with veterinary surgeons, fellow RVNs and the wider clinical team, you will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of patient care while enjoying excellent opportunities for ongoing professional development.

You will become part of a supportive multidisciplinary team of experienced veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses and support staff who work collaboratively to deliver exceptional patient care while helping to train future veterinary professionals.

Practice Details & Equipment
The practice is a purpose-built, 24-hour veterinary hospital located on a university campus. Facilities include advanced diagnostic imaging, modern surgical theatres and dedicated inpatient wards, allowing the team to manage a wide range of medical and surgical cases while providing an excellent learning environment for both staff and students.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse with experience in a small animal practice, hospital or referral environment. You will have strong nursing skills across consultations, theatre and inpatient care, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and a proactive, adaptable approach to your work. A passion for mentoring and supporting veterinary students, alongside a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional patient and client care, will be key to success in this role.
