Job Description

Introduction
Our Client’s hospital is a 24-hour GP facility providing a varied caseload including routine procedures, emergency and critical care, and internal referral cases. With access to specialist services such as orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, dermatology, and physiotherapy, the hospital offers an excellent environment for nurses looking to broaden their clinical experience.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time role with a varied rota covering all areas of hospital nursing. The position includes a 1:4 weekend rotation with time off in lieu and 1–2 bank holidays per year. There are no on-call requirements.

Role Description
This is a dynamic hospital nursing role offering exposure across wards, theatre, and consultations. You will assist veterinary surgeons during procedures, support inpatient care, and ensure accurate and detailed patient records are maintained.

You will also be responsible for post-operative care, client communication, and ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned, sterilised, and maintained. The role includes occasional Charge Nurse responsibilities at weekends and provides excellent opportunities for professional development within a busy hospital setting.

Team Size
You will be part of a large and experienced team of veterinary surgeons, RVNs, trainee nurses, and on-site clinical management, providing a strong and supportive network.

Practice Details
The hospital is an RCVS Accredited facility and holds an ISFM Silver Award for Cat Friendly Clinics, reflecting its commitment to high clinical standards. It is fully equipped to manage a wide range of cases and offers advanced procedures such as laparoscopic surgery. Acting as a referral centre for surrounding clinics, the hospital provides a diverse and interesting caseload within a modern and well-resourced environment.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment or is looking to transition from branch practice to expand their clinical skills. You will be a strong team player with excellent communication and organisational skills, committed to delivering high standards of patient care. A proactive approach and enthusiasm for continuous learning and development will be key to success in this role.
