Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is seeking a confident and proactive Registered Veterinary Nurse to take a leading role within their established GP practice in Kingston upon Thames.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an RVN ready to step into a sole charge position, helping to grow and develop a respected local practice with a loyal client base.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position working a 4-day week, with Wednesdays off.
The role includes a 1 in 4 branch Saturday rotation and 1 in 10 Saturdays at a nearby 24-hour hospital. You will be rota’d to work up to 2 bank holidays per year at the hospital site. There are no on-call requirements.
Role Description
As a sole charge Branch RVN, you will ensure the provision of high-quality and continually improving nursing care. You will assist the Veterinary Surgeon in theatre and consultations when required, maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records, and ensure the comfort and welfare of all patients in your care.
You will be responsible for maintaining equipment to a high standard, managing stock levels of drugs and consumables, and placing supplier orders as necessary.
The role also includes supporting and training colleagues, acting as a clinical supervisor for student nurses, assisting with induction of new staff, and carrying out reception duties when required to ensure a smooth and friendly client experience.
You will work alongside a full-time sole charge Veterinary Surgeon and a Veterinary Nursing Assistant, supporting their ongoing development while maintaining a collaborative and positive team culture.
Team and Practice Environment
The practice is set within a beautiful period building featuring a large consultation room with garden views, a spacious prep and clinical area, a separate office for administrative duties, and a comfortable colleague space with natural light throughout.
The clinic has an established and loyal client base, many of whom have been returning for decades. More complex or out-of-hours cases are supported by a nearby 24-hour hospital.
Location
Kingston upon Thames is a historic and vibrant market town offering excellent transport links, with Norbiton station just a 6-minute walk away and central London accessible within 50 minutes.
The practice is also within walking distance of Richmond Park and the River Thames, providing a balance of city connectivity and green open spaces. Accommodation is available above the practice if required.

You will be organised, proactive and enthusiastic, with strong clinical standards and excellent client communication skills.
Experience supporting and mentoring colleagues, along with a genuine passion for patient care and team collaboration, will be highly valued.
