Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned veterinary hospital providing both first opinion and emergency veterinary care within a busy 24-hour setting. This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a progressive hospital where you’ll gain exposure to a varied caseload while working alongside an experienced and supportive clinical team committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time day position with participation in the weekend rota. The successful candidate will work as part of the daytime nursing team within the hospital’s 24-hour service.
Role Description
This rewarding role offers the opportunity to utilise the full range of your nursing skills across inpatient care, theatre, anaesthesia, nurse consultations, diagnostics and emergency patient support. You will be involved in monitoring anaesthesia, assisting with surgical procedures, caring for hospitalised and emergency patients, supporting advanced diagnostics including CT imaging and laboratory work, administering treatments and medications, maintaining accurate clinical records and providing excellent client communication. Working within a busy hospital environment, you will also contribute to maintaining high clinical and hygiene standards while supporting both first opinion and referral cases.
Team Size
You will become part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team of veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, veterinary care assistants, reception staff and a dedicated in-house night team, all working together to provide outstanding patient care around the clock.
Practice Details & Equipment
The practice is a modern 24-hour veterinary hospital managing both first opinion and emergency cases while providing out-of-hours support for surrounding practices. Facilities include an on-site CT scanner, advanced diagnostic imaging, dedicated inpatient wards and well-equipped surgical theatres. The hospital also accepts referral orthopaedic procedures, providing exposure to a wide variety of advanced medical and surgical cases.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse with excellent communication and organisational skills who enjoys working within a busy hospital environment. You will be compassionate, proactive and adaptable, with a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. An interest in emergency and critical care, advanced nursing and referral work would be advantageous, although previous hospital or ECC experience is desirable rather than essential.
