Job Description

The Role
As a Surgical RVN, you will work alongside our clients 6 full-time RVNs, 6 part-time RVNs, 6 dedicated surgical suite Patient Care Assistants, as well as their Specialist Surgeons and Anaesthetists.
The position will involve supporting surgical patients from across multiple disciplines, including cardiology, soft tissue, orthopaedic, neurology, ophthalmology, as well as our primary care service.
As a Surgical RVN, you must be an excellent communicator and have a genuine desire to improve clinical standards. This is a full-time position working 38 hours per week including a share of weekends of 1:6
You must also have capability in all nursing duties including; anaesthesia monitoring, intravenous catheter placement, drug dosage calculation, handling and administration, blood sampling and patient recovery.

Responsibilities
Providing high-quality peri-operative care to surgical patients
Monitoring of anaesthesia, including emergency and critically ill patients Preparing patients for surgery and scrubbing into procedures, if required
Undertaking of both general and theatre nursing, including the maintenance and preparation of sterile supplies and instruments
Accurate record keeping
Infection control.
