Job Description

The role encompasses 40 hours per week with no out-of-hours duties and 1:3 Saturday mornings, with voluntary bank holiday work and associated perks. Employment with this practice also offers additional benefits and discounts at various retail stores.

Operating independently but akin to an independent practice, the team fosters a close, friendly, and inspiring environment while enjoying the benefits of a corporate structure. Nurses are encouraged to pursue their aspirations and utilize their skills in surgery or consultations. Benefits include holiday and pension allowances, which increase over time, along with full sick pay.

The ideal candidate would assist in the practice’s day-to-day operations, performing nursing duties such as lab work, surgery, and consultations, and mentoring aspiring nurses. They would also help maintain the Practice Standards Scheme and foster a supportive team environment. Previous experience in a busy practice is preferred.

Prospective candidates are invited to have an informal chat or visit the practice to ask questions, as team fit is deemed important. The practice, located just outside Edgbaston, Birmingham, deals with a diverse mix of insured pets and some exotics. Orthopaedic and complex soft tissue surgeries are performed in-house, with a varied case load. Intermittent cleaning and reception duties may be required, supported by a dedicated reception team. The practice supports nurses pursuing certificates in various specialties and collaborates with student nurses at different stages of their training.
